  I've been to Thailand several times, but chose Vietnam this year. I had a great time and want to go back and explore more of the country.

  I love Vietnam not all year round the weather is amazing but if you go at the right time it is simply amazing !

  Thailand is as cheap or expensive as you want to make it, but all good points. Been there enough times anyway. Not worth paying high prices in touristy areas. Vietnam is great for a holiday but wouldn't want to live there. Some people just look at the bottom line though, not overall livability. The exchange rate is pretty bad for Thailand these days which makes the most difference.

  I have had a few negative experiences in Pattaya but far more GREAT POSITIVE experiences. I am still going to Pattaya  for a month soon. And I will move there soon.

  I can tell you one thing, Vietnam will never be Thailand. I wouldn't even compare Thailand to Vietnam. there's nothing in this world like Thailand. I go to Thailand just to experience Thailand, to see Thai people, to mix with Thai culture and, to experience the  Thai way of life,   and to be one with Thailand. I am a regular visitor from Melbourne Australia for almost 10 years. quiet frankly Thai people don't care you foreigners that much. Come to Thailand enjoy Thailand, be nice,  play nice everything's gonna be all right. who cares about Vietnam tourism statistics. Keis hope you doing ok mate. sending you love. 🙏🙏

  been here ten years, not finding other nearby countries interesting enough to relocate.  not remotely.  been VN once, it was fine.  cambodia many times to siem reap, love it.  but Thailand is home.

  Lived in Thailand 8 years. Been to Vietnam several times. It's a great place to visit and what I see is more and more a lot of backpackers and people living on a smaller income are choosing Vietnam because it's a good 30% cheaper than thailand. In the eight years I have been in Thailand my monthly cost of living for living what I would consider to be a pretty comfortable life, has increased about $500 to maintain that same lifestyle and I don't drink or hang out at the bars. I think Thailand is seeing a lot more western couples who are moving here to retire. But I think that definitely the younger crowd and some of the older folks living on a budget are spending more time in Vietnam because it's more affordable.
