  What surprised me most wasn’t that Chinese mini PCs are cheaper — it’s how low the barrier to entry has become when the boards, cases, components, and manufacturing are all available in the same ecosystem. That really changes how I look at the price gap.<br>I’d still probably pay more for better support and reliability if the machine was for work, but for a home lab or secondary PC, paying $1,000+ just for the brand suddenly feels a lot harder to justify.

  Beelink - in 2024 I paid £124 (UK) for Beelink MINI S12 Mini PC, 12th Gen Intel Alder Lake-N95 Processor (up to 3.4GHz) Mini Computer, 12GB LPDDR5 480GB SSD Office Mini Desktop PC Windows 11 Home, 4K Dual HDMI/WiFi6/BT5.2/LAN 2.5G <br><br>Today that same machine is £246 on Amazon UK. Still a fraction of what I&apos;d have to pay for just about anything else from the traditional companies. &nbsp;If I&apos;ve learned one thing over the years, it is pointless being &quot;loyal&quot; to any brand. Buy what you need, when you need it, at the price acceptable to you.

  Doesn&apos;t matter how cheap the mini PC is when you can&apos;t afford RAM or an SSD for it...<br><br>Plus in China making a PC is not difficult, quality assurance is... a company needs defensive validation at every step to not get scammed. People used to buy name brands for quality and good customer support and warranty but that is clearly not delivered anymore so these big companies destroyed themselves.

  I love my mini PC I have it velcoed behind my TV you can&apos;t tell it&apos;s a mini PC it runs better than my Lenovo laptop

  I wish one day to buy a mini pc to set up my daughter’s computer and her desk. Our room space is a little limited. A mini pc with a monitor could be saving some space. ❤

  I had recently bought an off-lease Dell SFF and it&apos;s running as the family server and also my personal machine. For many - but not all - less processing is local anyway, and a lean browser is your current &quot;OS.&quot; (Yes, not all. Gamers, content creators, etc. aren&apos;t the audience most of the market.)
