  Matthew (the helicopter man) Thank you for your service and for all those rescues you and your team did. Black Saturday I will always remember - I have no words. It was so so HOT. Have friends in Toowoomba. Also, Marty you are a strong strong man. Thought and prayers came from near and far for everyone involved in both the floods and fires.

  Not an Aussie but a cuz from across the ditch & this shit still breaks my heart... I've been around for back burns & even that's a little surreal, cant truly imagine being present for this... Rest in peace to all of the souls lost in the bushfires xoxox

  I remember both fires. had two friends loose their houses in black Saturday and one of my uni colleagues lost his family as they couldn&apos;t get out. He was lucky as he had been at work at the time. <br>Burn offs are very important, it keeps the vegetation at a low risk and we also have flora that actually need fire to germinate. Be smart, be aware of your surroundings and please leave before it becomes too deadly.

  I was doing security during 2019 and 2020 fires. I was in Lakes entrance and Bairnsdale &nbsp;never forget it.grey smoke in sky had to wear a face mask.where I stayed at San remo the fire fighters base was behind us.ill never forget it we were stuck for 2 weeks instead of only one

  Was a bit younger back then but my father was 1st oficer of a fire bragade and sadly lost his life

  Marysville...so much could of been done. As hindsight. Never ignore your training. I survived &apos;67 in Tasmania. I knew the fires were coming. It isn&apos;t till it is to late dose authority act, then it is desperation its response. You can not stop fires, especially in Australia. The original Australians had it right .... &nbsp;low burn the area you live as a precaution and the reward with be growth instead of destruction.
