  I wasn&apos;t really a fan of the remake but thought it was decent until I saw Welcome To Derry which elevated the franchise heavily for me. It&apos;s probably one of the best horror tv shows of modern times.

  I love the remakes, I found out while filming the remake they kept Bill separated from the losers. They didn’t even know what Pennywise looked like until the projector scene and when Eddie breaks his arm

  I’ve never seen the original IT movie but the 2017 remake is one of my favorite movies. They did a great job on the losers club, the kids had great chemistry, and the reinvention of pennywise was unique and I loved it!

  Tim Curry’s penny wise is more believable because of his more human-like interactions. It’s believable that a child could trust him because of how he can make them laugh and smile while who would trust Bill’s depiction to begin with. That’s a “That mf is not real” headass meme.

  The biggest problem with the modern version is Pennywise. That version is just to scary. Pennywise adopts the clown facade because it initially looks benign and welcoming to young kids. The fact that most of the victims are young kids often gets overlooked, Pennywise targets young kids because it knows they are gullible, easily influenced and trusting. To enable Pennywise to catch the children it depends on the friendly, harmless funny clown persona to attract and undermine any “don’t talk to strangers” wariness. The modern films Pennywise would scare the living sh1t out of any kid who saw it, its appearance directly contradicts the idea of using the clown appearance and any kid would be running straight home away from the insane looking clown. Yes, the later version is more obviously, superficially scarier than the Curry version but that is the problem. I would also argue that when watching the original series, you see the clown and it’s whimsical appearance and it is not immediately obvious it is evil but as you realise what it is you are actually more disturbed and scared by it than the new versions hyper obvious evilness. Because the new version is just scary and creepy from the very first moment you see it, you get no tension or realisation build up, it’s just blatantly scary and that is the massive weakness of the 2017 version. Tim Curry absolutely nailed the performance, Skarsgard’s version was just to OTT and obvious, his performance would have worked in any other film than IT.

  One of the biggest things going for the miniseries (besides Tim Curry, of course) is the score. I remember getting goosebumps just hearing it as child.

  i don&apos;t know what it is about the original but i prefer it more. the remake one doesn&apos;t really have IT yunno? there&apos;s a pun there. he feels like a different entity than the it we get in the original. and thank GOD we didn&apos;t get an exact replica of the book.

  IT 2017 and chapter 2 are actually not remakes they are different adaptations of the book
