This is why I love endgames. In openings you can get a small advantage, but knowing endgames is singlehandedly the difference between win loss and draw

Congratulations on winning this tough game, Nelson! This was not only a very fine lesson on endgames, but also on the importance of mental stamina in tournament chess: I am quite sure that your opponent with nearly 1900 elo knows the Philidor position, but exhausted from the long game and most likely frustrated by the missed opportunities earlier, he went astray.<br>(Btw: Love the "tar bucket fly" 🪰 in the thumbnails of your tournament game reviews.
