  Deep respect from BORETS LAB in Ukraine.<br><br>These six scenarios are a beautiful reminder that martial arts do not have to fight for one crown. Aikido, Judo, Sambo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are different branches of a much larger grappling tree. The rules and training methods differ, but the language of kuzushi, timing, posture, connection and control is familiar to all of us.<br><br>Our athletes train freestyle wrestling, sport and combat Sambo, and BJJ. Watching Shirakawa Sensei, we don’t see an opponent to “expose.” We see another tradition preserving principles that every serious grappler can study.<br><br>One day, we would be honored to welcome an Aikido master to our mat in Ukraine—not for a disrespectful “which style wins?” spectacle, but for an honest exchange between traditions: what Aikido can teach competitive grapplers, and what both sides can learn from training together.<br><br>Different methods.   Jesse, you finally met Shirakawa Sensei Jr. Why not meet Shirakawa Sensei Sr. next? <br><br>And then Saito Sensei Jr., Saotome Sensei, Ichiro Shibata Sensei and then Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba.<br><br>Too bad Kazuo Chiba Sensei has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He was a really fun guy who had a background in Karate and wouldn’t hesitate to snap a punch into your belly if you were inattentive during class.
