  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbCeKNcr6Wk&amp;t=25">0:25</a> -- in fact, I read a Reddit article about the B-52 where one of the comments was from an Air Force pilot who stated that he had flown the same B-52 -- not just the same aircraft type, but the same <b>plane</b> -- flown by his grandfather.

  Worked on the B-52&apos;s weapon system back in the early 80&apos;s. This is one tough plane. &nbsp;Still amazed it&apos;s flying. &nbsp;I can tell you next to nothing of the original guts of the plane is still in them. Was a absolute pain when we had to replace a electrical cable from body of plane to weapons pylon. Had to pull out air conduit and other bomb-nav cabling to just get to this one cable. &nbsp;I got stuck working up in the wing since being female I was one of the smallest techs in the unit...at 5&apos;6&quot;. &nbsp;Having thin hands with long fingers also helped ...lol.

  I&apos;m a Vietnam war vet where the B-52s where used extensively. A B-52 which had lost an engine during a Linebacker II mission over Vietnam that was returning to Guam, declared an emergency. There was a radio response from from another unidentified aircraft... &quot;Ah yes, the dreaded 7 engine landing...&quot;.

  Although not canon, rumor has it that for James T. Kirk’s graduation from Starfleet Academy in 2254, there was a B-52Z (still serving with the Alaska National Guard) flyover.

  I’m 71 years of age living in eastern Oregon. When I was a teen, there were a squadron of ‘52’s stationed at Mountain Home AFB in Idaho, and we used to go watch them practice radar avoidance as they would fly down the Owyhee &nbsp;River canyon, below the canyon rim, and exit out over the Treasure Valley at barely above tree top level! &nbsp;We would be standing atop the canyon rim looking down on these monsters as they careened their way through the canyon, Dr Strangelove style! Amazing aircraft then - even more so today.

  The most insane fact i know about B-52 is that its first flight is closer to Wright brothers&apos; flyer than to today.
