  My father was 18 when he was called to help just after he had finished his shift as a rescuer for the mines. Once he got there, he was told that his job wasn't to dig, but to wipe the faces of the dead children so they could be identified. It left him with PTSD and sleep paralysis for years after, and he couldn't talk about it for the rest of his life.

  I grew up in Aberfan, so this episode hit hard. My primary school was visited by the Queen during her diamond jubilee. I now realise the significance of her visit.
