I was an extra for the Aberfan episode of the Crown. I was playing a soldier who attended the town funeral. Jason Watkins was there filming his scenes. When the filming was wrapping up, we (the extras) were all lined up ready to go and Watkins came up to us. He wanted to say his thanks to all of us for giving up our time to help film this episode. He was very sweet and he is a wonderful actor.

My father was a junior doctor at the Cardiff Royal Infirmary, when news of Aberfan came through, they opened wards for the expected casualties . But none came…

I believe almost all of them actors weren't acting during those scenes. The grief in south Wales is still and will forever be felt. RIP x
