  David was the best friend Syd ever had. David produced Syd&apos;s music when no-one else would even try, and found ways to make Syd&apos;s &nbsp;way of playing into listenable tracks. Not mentioned here was the fact that David always made sure that, as years went by, Syd received all royalties that he was entitled to.

  This modest, mild-mannered gentleman played superlative drums for one of the most ferocious, funky, soulful, greasy, bluesy rock bands of all time (Humble Pie).

  I was in Hanoi and at a bar called the Doors in the early 2010s. The musician that was performing an acoustic guitar and vocals set played Domino and the people in the bar, who were all Vietnamese, all started singing along with him. It was so surreal.

  I like how David, Roger and Richard all pitched in to help their brother Syd, even though they knew it would be a challenge to work with Syd. &nbsp;Such gentlemen they are! &nbsp;Bands are not the same these days. &nbsp;That&apos;s why I always love the 60&apos;s and 70&apos;s Progressive Rock Bands.

  I love the solo albums by Barrett, vegetable man, and many other songs. Ahead of his time, and Jerry Shirley&apos;s drumming is right there, it is great.
