Syd was a painter, a fine artist, not just a musician. He continued to make art until he died. I'm glad that he was able to do that and express his creativity for himself, not an audience.

Both Roger and David grew up with Syd. They watched their childhood friend disintegrate and were powerless as he slipped away. Don't forget that.

Mental illness is an ongoing pandemic that shatters the lives of bright, gifted, people like Syd Barrett. It also devastates their family, friends and the people who greatly admired them. We will never forget you Syd.

My brother lost his spark, he initiated me in Pink Floyd - PF became the soundtrack to my grief in dealing with his death. My brother looked like Sid, not even joking, he had wild staring eyes; a strong urge to fly; but nowhere to fly to...above all else he was one hell of a crazy diamond. <br>Salute to Waters.
