"Bet you didn't know Pikmin had elements of psychological horror." No, unfortunately I felt psychologically frightened quite regularly during my last replay

46:50 In defense to the candypop buds, digesting and reconstituting into a new form while maintaining the same memories is a real thing in nature through the metamorphosis seen in moths and butterflies. I imagine the pikmin just see it as a weird inconvenience at most.

I love learning new things about my favorite game series and learning that Pikmin's world map is a collage of stock photos is something I never or heard of before.

56:39 Cell guy here, the "secondary nucleus/pancreas" could be a number of things. Its description is closest to a lysosome or peroxisome. A lysosome is used by an organism to break down phagocytized elements by using catalytic enzymes. Peroxisomes do something similar but use peroxidase to make hydrogen peroxide. The fact it has a membrane encased nucleus suggests a eukaryotic life form, so i would have assumed the secondary "nucleus" to be a mitochondria but that is not used for defense. In any case the direct hit of this organelle causing damage makes sense as free floating peroxidase or lysosomal enzymes can damage a cell pretty bad. If for the sake of argument it was a mitochondria damaging the mitochondria could lead to the release if cytochrome c which is a signal to the cell to undergo apoptosis or programmed cell death. In either case it makes sense why a direct hit would cause damage. Since there is only one it would be strange for it to be a lysosome as there are usually many within an animal cell, and the sane could be said for peroxisome. Therefor i have to remove those from the differential. However if it was for example a vaculoe, which can have a function very similar to a lysosome, then it would explain why there is only one but that would be seen in a fungal or plant cell. It is unlikely to be a plant cell as in plant cells a cell wall is almost always present. As is the case with almost all fungal cells, except in certain life stages of a few fungi species. However in these species' zoospore stage the vacuole is mainly used for water expulsion not digestion. But this is a post human world and we have created in labs fungi cells with out a cell wall. These sphereoplasts are quite fragile and are only bound by a cell membrane. However they can look remarkably similar to goolix. Thus due to the singular vacuole i believe that this is a spheroplast that was created in a lab but was able to adapt to not having a cell wall. This would explain its apperance, the prominence of the vacuole, and the rarity of the creature in the pikmin world. Once again it all comes back to fungi.

Something I'd like to add about the Wollyhops is that, Yellows are pretty good against those guys

Since they float so high up, Yellows end up aligning themselves pretty well with the hops while airborne. It's not THE most effective, but you won't have to worry about throwing Pikmin under them while throwing 'em

Hello, Wog here.
Although it seems pretty rare in other countries, Wog has been in common use in Australia for over 50 years.
Now, it has mostly been reclaimed by us, so it's not really used as a derogatory slur anymore.
That being said, no one I know would draw a comparison to Wallywog and the slur itself, nor be offended by it. Especially since it obviously comes from Pollywog

When you take a closer look at the Forest Navel's map, you can see that it's shaped like a Bulborb.

I love the name Wollywog so much that I use it as the name of all my Animal Crossing towns. I was always sad they changed it

45:40 My interpretation is that instead of a literal analog computer, the Analog Computer is the antethesis to a digital computer. Instead of producing logical calculations, using 1's and 0's or truths and falsehoods, it instead processes entirely through emotions and feeling, and since it isn't (at least primarily) built for logical thinking, it's not the most helpful thing (just like a normal computer isn't the best for processing emotions). In that way of being such a bizzare and illogical piece of Olimar's ship, it's definitely one of my favourites as well.

A lot of these parts don't seem the most helpful from Olimar's perspective, huh? I feel like half of which parts are required comes from how Olimar vibes with them (in how he deems them nessisary or not, without nessisarily being able to fully understand them). In a way, the computer is an analog to himself...

This is my favorite level in the entire series. The cave feels so surreal and dreamlike.

I could see the forest navel being a cave formed by a sinkhole, with enough of the surface dirt being strong enough to make a precarious roof. Thats my headcanon anyway
