  Who else always waits for ANOTHER Cammisa video? Honestly the main reason I've subbed to Hagerty tbh. Gotta say, I'm glad the Alpine A110 is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Such a great French Sports Car

  When I was a young man living in Switzerland in the early 80's I purchased my dream car, a 1959 4CV. Then one day I saw an A110. Out of the blue an offer was presented by a stranger for the 4CV and it was sold. Guess what I bought? A 1974 A110 with a 1300 Gordini S motor. The video at the end from the driver's perspective brought back memories. It also reminded me of how terrifying it was to be in the passenger seat.

  Fun facts about the folks involved in Alpine&apos;s story:<br><br>- Alpine&apos;s racing history goes deeper than just rallies - their sports racers were consistent contenders for lower-class wins, and the M64 and A210 won the Index of Performance and Thermal Efficiency awards (best pace relative to displacement and energy consumption) at Le Mans in &apos;64 and &apos;66 respectively. Theirs was the second turbocharged car ever to win Le Mans outright - the A442B, itself a descendant of the A441 that swept the 1974 European Sportscar Championship.<br><br>- That revvy little engine in the OG A110 is the legacy of another skilled French racer: Amédée Gordini, former employee of Simca. His company&apos;s cars competed in grand prix, rallies, and endurance races with custom and tuned engines. The Gordini Type 16 scored podiums at the 1952 editions of the Swiss and Belgian grand prix, using a straight-six Gordini created themselves - they were an engine concern first and foremost. Pretty much all of Renault and Alpine&apos;s competition cars have engines with Gordini fingerprints all over them - the A110&apos;s sky-high redline could only be the work of &quot;Le Sorcier&quot;.<br><br>- Gordini&apos;s headquarters, from 1969, were in Viry-Chatillon. Renault Sport still works out of there....making F1 engines for the Alpine team. The ex-Gordini factory, making engines for Alpine chassis. History doesn&apos;t repeat, but it does rhyme.

  “Shift paddles are enormous.”<br>Those are aftermarket items from Life110. &nbsp;Many UK owners have fitted them to replace the smaller OEM paddles.

  Hi from France! I&apos;m very honored that you&apos;re taking the time to talk about this car even though it&apos;s not available where you live. Be patient, the future A110 (2027) should finally arrive in the US (and not just as an EV like in europe).
