  Parents are not owed anything for providing for their children until adulthood. Parents can choose to continue support,help with further education. If we do so...it's a GIFT..and no payments required.

  That $64,000 is going straight to the brother. They failed to wean the favoured one, moving him from breast milk straight to money and from there to literally helping him to feed directly off his brother while taking substantial mouthfuls themselves whilst setting things up for any grandchildren from there favourite to join the feast. Second degree cannibalism at minimum.

  The IRS considers free rent as unearned income, so they’d be liable for that. &nbsp;Also, the donor can be liable if the amount goes &nbsp;over the amount allowed for gifts.

  I was the quiet one too (oldest child of 5), I can empathize. paid my way through college with a Navy scholarship and a 5 year commitment. My parents expected me to pay my siblings college expenses - didn&apos;t happen but my siblings were told that my parents had paid &apos;mine&apos; and this was the deal so they hated me for decades...go figure (these stories are not necessarily all that exaggerated).

  My oldest son is the parts manager at a dealership. I get my tires at cost and the labor for free. I joke with his coworkers that I knew having him would pay off one day. I love him to death and he doesn&apos;t owe me anything. He&apos;ll volunteer, but that&apos;s it. I have 6 kids and they&apos;re all the best...

  25 is not a kid in the rest of the world, and in the US you can&apos;t have a beer till 21, age 15 with family in UK though you can&apos;t buy till 18, have special bus to school instead of walking the first 3 miles after age 7. Americans are babied beyond what is reasonable
