In the UK we call them wimps, not simps. I remember one relationship lasting all of 6 weeks. I made her take back clothes she had bought for herself instead of for her daughter. She told me me "I must get a job, That turned into "I must get a job when my daughter starts school". That turned into "I'm never going to get a job" in the end I got a Dear John phone call. After it was all over I found out from a mutual friend that after she had met me she went home and told the wimp she was living with to - "get out of the bath and leave now, I've met someone else". The wimp did exactly what he was told. After I left the wimp returned - as he was told - a prize wimp.

Story of a simp. I would have let her have her ex and found someone better. Why stay with someone that doesn't respect or love you?? Cause if she respected and loved you, she wouldn't have a ex in her life that's more important than her partner/fiancé. OP should have ran far away from her and moved on. Why do the couples counseling and all that when you know it's gonna happen again. May not be with the ex next time. And at the end there's no real result of their relationship, just in the air like the feather from the beginning of Forrest Gump lmao.
