  Another Canadian here, I so relate to you and i'm in my 50s and have felt this about a decade ago and has gotten more so after 2020

  I too feel more comfortable around people who are rough around the edges, because at least you can see their BS early on, then take it or leave it. I’m most wary of  the slick ones who are messed up in ways you can’t see right away. If you’re not skeptical of everyone you eventually get scammed.

  The people you like end up moving away, don&apos;t have time for you anymore, or get married which can change the situation. &nbsp;The people you hate never seem to go away. &nbsp;That happened to my parents with friends, and my parents had siblings living around that were trouble makers. &nbsp;It was impossible to even be friends with your own family members living close by.
