The thundercat does not have a detuned r6 engine.
The only thing in common wirh an r6 is the engine capacity and the brand.
Timing chain is between cylinder 2 and 3 (middle)
While the r6 is on the side.
It also has iron cylinder sleeves, the r6 does not.
Engine of the thundercat is the same as the 1st gen fazer with added ram air and bigger carbs (if i remember well)
It also is heavier and more reliable aaaand more punchy than the r6 at low revs.
It has as much in common with the r6 as it has with a cbr600.

I had a 2000 YAMAHA YZFR1 last of the carbureted monsters. Best bike I’ve ever owned….NEVER let me down in 20 years of ownership. I sold her to a young Army officer last year….I’m pushing 62 now, and she was just too uncomfortable for my worn out hips and knees 😢😅….I still think of her….❤Keep the old man OUT, my barebones friend, and RIDE FREE….

What I like most about your videos are they cover bikes that a normal human being can own, not bikes that cost more than my house! Keep it up!

In my opinion bike manufacturers realy hit a peak in the 1990's meaning most are now available at pocket money prices with the bonus of cheap insurance. In one way they can be better now than when they were new, they take modern tyres which have the benefit of a quarter of centuries development behind them.

I'm sure I've commented this before on one of yours, but I love the stuff you make. It's interesting, highly informative and thoroughly entertaining, but more than that it always cheers me up and makes me feel better. It feels like listening to a good mate in the evening after a middling day. It never feels like you're trying to sell me something I don't want.

Thanks for using the picture of my ZX10B @ 31:03 🙂. Your summary of the ZX10B is spot on, I have had mine ten years now and it is still fast enough to be scary, I run out of talent long before it does.

Great video, I've had several of the bikes here and have two of them currently. Great to see the ZZR1200, Suoerblackbird and fireblade and enjoyed those bikes very much. However I was really happy to see the Triumph Sprint which is my current main bike and it truly is a great bike, comfy, fast, great handling and can take a pillion. But my real joy to see in your list was my most loved bike ever, which I have had the pleasure of owning one again for the last three years is the mighty ZX10 Tomcat. The Tomcat was my first introduction into super high speed back in the mid 90's and I have always held a soft spot for them ever since. It's an incredible machine and opened up so many roads for me and I haven't looked back since the 90's. Great video again, keep up the great work.

A few years ago, I had a very early Honda Blackbird. Great bike. Pulled like a train. It even still had its original exhaust system and was like new. It had 50,000 miles and i removed the cylinder head to do a decoke, not that it needed it, and the bores still had the honing marks. The best bike i had was a Kawasaki ZZR600 E model. Great fun that would keep up with some 750s and 900s. Sounded good too.

so glad i was riding superbikes back in the 90s and 00s before all the safety junk was standard, carbed superbikes were and still are unreal, no TC, no ABS, just you and the bike

I'm quite sure modern bikes are amazing, but for me, I like the man and machine combo without the computer

I like your style. Subscribed!
I have been getting years of trouble free adrenaline rushes from my '99 VFR. Arguably the best thrilling and reliable "all around " bike Honda ever made...and the sound of the V4 with gear driven cams🤌
