  This may seem super obvious, but for those who don't want to gauge because of the yarn waste: you don't have to cut the gauge swatch off the yarn skein! Once you meet gauge, just unravel it and use it for your project.

You will never stop growing and learning in any creative field. The second you let go of the ego, so much fun can happen. Art is meant to be about the experimentation, the learning, the growth we find within ourselves. <br>I am stealing this saying and applying it to everything. Words are just as powerful as perspective.

  One tip I have for frogging is to place a stitch marker just below where your mistake is. It ensures I frog to the mistake but not past the mistake.

  One thing that I don’t think enough crochet Youtubers talk about is using your stitch markers in the top of your chain three. &nbsp;Not only does it help you find the top of your chain three it keeps the chain three open so when you finally put a stitch in it, it’s not as tight because a stitch marker has been holding it open.

  Learning to use a larger hook size for the foundation chain, and maybe the first row, saved me from much frustration!

  Does anybody else find their tension changes with their mood? If I’m feeling relaxed, my tension tends to be slightly looser than if I’m stressed, &nbsp;and I also find that as I’m nearing the end of a large project my tension tends to get looser as I speed towards the finish line.

  I can think of one crochet mistake I learned not to make the hard way -- not taking notes on a project or writing down what I did, especially when freehanding it -- even just making note of what crochet hook I was using on that WIP that I put down and did not pick up again for a few months. &nbsp;It saves you time and headaches if you keep track. &nbsp;Thanks so much for this video!

  My mom could’ve used the first and last stitch of the row markers. She crocheted a blanket for my brother and never picked up a hook again. We used to call it “The Trapezoid” She couldn’t figure it out. I started crocheting 15 years later and realized what happened 🤣
