  This really makes me miss Cuba. I was there as part of a university course studying the Cuban agricultural system when I was a student at UBC. It was a life-changing experience. Seeing people who live with so little, but are still so welcoming, kind, and resilient is so humbling. There was such a massive divide between my own pretty humble life as a student at that time, and the lives of even a fairly financially comfortable Cuban citizen. Everywhere we went, people cooked for us, and I was acutely aware of how precious what they offered us was to them. We never said no to meals cooked for us - it felt like such a deeply generous and meaningful thing for them to share what little they had with us. We always brought them things to help compensate them for their generosity. Vaccines and dewormer for their dogs, cats and horses, text books, Tylenol, aspirin, antiseptic, polysporin, bandages, tampons, printer ink, crayons and markers for the kids... Each year before our course, the places we would be visiting would compile a list of things they needed most and we would fundraise to try to acquire every item.<br><br>Cuba is a wonderful country to explore - especially as a student affiliated with a university because it opened up opportunities for us to see places and talk to people that we would never have experienced if we were there as tourists. The country is incredibly interesting. There&apos;s tonnes of art, very kind, funny people, so much history... There is music everywhere. <br><br>I LOVED Santiago de Cuba. Our guide told us that the harbour at Santiago de Cuba was one of the favourite hiding spots for pirates in the past because the mouth of the harbour is difficult to see from the ocean if you don&apos;t know the area. There&apos;s a wonderful botanical garden there if you&apos;ve got some time to kill. 💕

  Often times, things get rebuilt, then they just sit in a corner with the occasional outing, polish, service.<br> Tally Ho was a magnicent rebuild, but is now living a full life . She is caressing the Oceans and Seas and finding ventures new.<br> A classic wooden yacht, talented driven &nbsp;people and the world at your feet.<br> These videos are a rare break from the torrent of depressing, global news.<br> I think we are all greatful for that. Long live Tally Ho, Leo and Marit and the warmest of greetings to the wonderful people of Cuba.
