Nurgle terrifies me. Not for the horrific things he causes and champions but because he genuienly believes he's helping you.

The real terror at the heart of Evangelion was the studio running out of money.

Thank god for putting anti spiral, people often use the term cosmic power fantasy when it comes to gurren lagan because of its flashy aesthetic. But if we look at from a the perspective of a normal human to anti spiral, its pure cosmic horror.

AM is definitely the most horrifying godlike entity. Most gods in fiction want to change, rule, or destroy the world, and are meant to be somewhat incomprehensible in their motives.
AM is the world, AM is reality itself. AM's motives are obvious to the point a child could understand them. AM is hubris taken to the utmost definition of power.

I'm so glad you included The Witness. The 'Final Shape' is such a rich idea. An end to entropy and the meaningless cycle of action and reaction, the universe perfected and unchanging.

A note about Gurren Lagann - the ending of the series is basically Simon agreeing that what Anti-Spirals fear is a realistic possibility, he's the one person who'd know the best that it seems there are no limits spiral power cannot break. It's not that Simon decides to push on regardless of the danger, it's that he claims humans can limit themselves before it's too late and that there is no need to sacrifice their potential just to ensure the universe will survive. Anti-Spiral believes the line is stagnation vs eventual destruction of the universe, but Simon reframes it into a conflict between hope and hopelessness. It's why Anti-Spiral accepts it's defeat, because it actually starts to believe that humanity can refrain from endless evolution fueled by spiral power, that there is a better way than genociding entire races out of fear.

It's why we see Simon as an old man at the very end, with no Nia in sight. Spiral power would absolutely be able to ressurect her and stop him from aging, but he refused to use it for a selfish reason, honoring his promise to Anti-Spiral.

This has me restructuring the characters for my late game story arc about apostles of creation and destruction.

Im putting the horror elements in it now, and its like watching shadows fall over the land.

The Apostles were never bright to begin with, but they could be SO much darker.

Thank you for the dark look into the human perspective. It goes far deeper than I ever imagined.

I was probably going to subscribe anyway, but the obvious appreciation you have for Berserk and Muira made me hit the button faster.

Giygas actually isn't based on a rape scene, it was a murder scene Shigesato Itoi misinterpreted as a rape scene. A minor detail, but still a big difference.
