The “song” itself is not just a song, it’s an eye-witness report by someone who WAS THERE. 🇺🇸 🌹 🇺🇸 🌹 🇺🇸 🌹 🇺🇸 🌹🇺🇸

 Yep, people make fun of us for "worshiping our flag" but it isn't just a flag but an enduring symbol that connects us to our forefathers who fought to defend us.

 I hear alot of people from other countries say they don't understand why ameri and are so patriotic or why everyone has a flag outside, but this is the reason why, we are very proud of our country and the sacrifice many people have made to defend the land and its people

 Now you understand why the whole kneel at the National Anthem thing was such an affront to a veteran or any American...what they did was holy in a way...so we as a people are all for freedom and protest....but there are always things that are sacred. The anthem is one of those!

 We are at our core a rebel nation born in a crucible of blood and fire. Patriotism may seem like a joke to other countries, but for us it is life. It is our pride. It is our destiny to honor those who bequeathed this nation to us with their sacrifices.

 I am a 50 yr old female and have never been in the military but would defend this flag and my country with my last breath. People think we are crazy and it's just a piece of fabric.. well to us it's more precious then gold and for me it's worth more to me then my life. I have family who died defending this country and that flag. Thank you for honoring the US by playing this.

 It is so awesome to see. After 200 years you fellows across the pond have never known the story and never known why we are so proud of this song, the flag, and the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifices for a simple belief in freedom for all.

 Knowing this story helps one understand the commitment, in handling the US flag, that it never drop to the ground. And it also underscores the crassness - or ignorance - of protesters who viciously trample the flag. Not only are they repudiating the ideals represented by the flag
("all men are created equal";
"inalienable right to life, right to liberty, right to pursuit of happiness" which means deciding for yourself what is best for your family;
government only receives its power with the consent of the governed),
but treating the flag like that is jeering vulgarly at what the men did who died to keep the new United States free from rule by the tyrant king ... and jeering at all the other men who fought and died in the ensuing years: rescuing captives from the Arabian pirates, fighting in WWII, etc.

 It was about the flag. But it was about so much more. Our flag stands for freedom. Freedom that was hard fought with the lives of many, many American patriots who gave their lives to keep that flag flying. To let the flag touch the ground meant giving up our freedom from British rule. That's why even now we don't allow our flag to touch the ground.
