Keep in mind: London Heathrow Airport has been planning and debating its controversial expansion (specifically a third runway) since 2003—whereas, during that same period, Germany managed to build a new airport in Berlin, as well as a fourth runway and Terminal 3 in Frankfurt.

The whole point is that this has nothing to do with Germany. BER was built by Berlin, while Frankfurt terminal 3 was built by Fraport.

A much needed upgrade from the old Terminal 2 which was atrocious - overcrowded and dated. Terminal 3 finally feels like a worthy place to travel internationally from Frankfurt.

I flew out of T3, and it was the best airport I’ve ever been to. The distances are so short, and everything is incredibly convenient.
