  An important fact I heard is that herbivores are a lot more willing to engage in a fight than a carnivore. When herbivores are injured they can still eat the stationary plants and have enough nutrition to heal. An injured carnivore can&apos;t catch their food, and often starve.

  Instead of trying to turn an elephant into a pursuit predator it would probably be easier for them to live in swamps or something and be more like crocodiles or alligators and ambush their prey while keeping most of their body under the water and breathing through their trunk. An amphibious murder elephant would basically be a modern-day spinosaurus which is deeply frightening
