That hitchhiker kid in Ireland apparently came forward and confirmed the story, along with his cousin who was also there.

"When we started the Foo Fighters I was 26 years old. In 1994 I had some sort of personal awakening or revelation or epiphany that life is worth living every single day. The intention of the band was to look forward to life." - Dave Grohl

2:26 just imagine you’re hitchhiking kid in Nirvana’s t-shirt in the middle of nowhere somewhere in the Ireland. And there is a fn Dave Grohl comes on a rental car to pick you up. Jesus…

You know you are watching a master when you watch them and think you could do it. A master always makes it look easy.

I seen Dave in the mid 80s touring with Scream. As a drummer myself I was mesmerized by the way he played. It was like the kit was just an extension of his body. Years later a friend of mine said Dave’s new band is playing so we went to see him. My heart sank when I seen him playing guitar. By the end of the show I realized he’s just an all around good musician.

He is the only and first drummer I have heard who has a kind of riff mindset in his playing. It is unique, even non-drummers noticed it. And of course he's a powerhouse.
