  I've used Ron for years on my home.  He also did a panel upgrade on my home, as well as attaching an exterior twist-connect socket for me to use my gas generator, during a power outage, to electrify my whole house (he installed a safety panel shut-off switch to ensure that the main breaker is off before powering my home with the generator).  He's extremely professional, neat, prompt and his pricing is fair.   I got a chuckle  out of Ron, in this video, sweeping away the saw dust with his hands, while outside, and placing it in the receptacle.   (Steve from Colonia)

  Hey Electrician Ron, this is electrician Dan from Montana. I'm a Master electrician and have been in this trade for 43 years now. I gotta say, I haven't ran a ground rod in like that here in rocky mountain Montana in a long time ........ lol. I need the BIG electric jack hammer or do the 2 1/2' deep lay-in-the-ditch trick after ripping the rocks out with the minnie-ex. No need for trenchers here either. Actually saw the rod pop back out of the ground next to me in a horseshoe shape once. Just had to say hi and laughed out loud watching those rods go in with that roto-hammer. When ever we get one to go in that easy, we talk about it for days.

  The electrician I helped always had a drill with a old fashioned chuck to use to tighten up tve strands for the neutral. He ment business when he brought out the old hand drill to do it.

  Great video, as usual.  Regarding the ground rods not doing anything, I think the confusion comes from DIY people (not electricians) thinking that the “grounding electrode system “ is capable of clearing a fault by tripping a breaker.  Only the “equipment grounding conductors “ can do that.  I didn’t understand this until I watched Mike Holt’s videos, made many years ago, but still up on YouTube.

  Nice job Ron, I learned many years ago...if a Navy guy tells you how to ground something listen to them. ;)  The Navy has to deal with some crazy amp levels and they have no ground to pound in the ground rod...

  Great job Ron. That was a full boat service upgrade and generator backup work. Those long days are tough. Especially when the power is disconnected.
