I am a woman, have struggled with Weight for years. I have hypothyroidism and am perimenopausal. My dad was a bigger guy and solidly built. Mom was skinny, but not muscular. I have kept active and have lifted at home for many years. I am on a GLP-1, and still struggle to lose. My nutritionist has me reverse dieting right now. I would be happy losing 20-30 pounds, and am trying to hang on to the muscle and build if possible. I agree that being strong is much better than being frail.

We keep hearing this from experts. Hold onto, and even build, muscle while losing fat rather than lose fat first then try to build muscle afterward. That means body recomp should start at the beginning of a weight loss journey, not after you’ve lost the weight.

I'm 45 and about 288lbs and approx 23% bf. My blood markers are pretty good, bp runs 110/70. I eat clean, lift 4x/wk, and keep up with daily steps and zone 2 cardio. I'm definitely healthier than a lot of people, even though I'm nearly 300 lbs

THANK YOU for this! I’m plus size but I also have a lot of muscles from lifting weights. Fitness comes in all sizes.

<b>Key Points to Remember After You Watch The Video. (Thank Me Later):</b><br>1. Being fit and active while having some extra body fat is actually healthier than being skinny but weak (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM">0:00</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=81">1:21</a>).<br><br>2. Frailty, which means being weak with no muscle, is one of the most dangerous things for your health as you get older (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=141">2:21</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=204">3:24</a>).<br><br>3. Research shows that fit people who are overweight often live just as long, or even longer, than people who are thin but do not exercise (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=204">3:24</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=280">4:40</a>).<br><br>4. Your muscles act like storage containers for energy, which helps your body stay flexible and healthy when you eat more food (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=422">7:02</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=541">9:01</a>).<br><br>5. Building muscle is better for your long term health and happiness than trying to shrink your body by eating very little food (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=610">10:10</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=732">12:12</a>).<br><br>6. Many people mistakenly think that being super thin will make them happy, but the data proves that being healthy and strong is much better (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=1068">17:48</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=1428">23:48</a>).<br><br>7. You should focus on building the body you want through exercise instead of trying to starve yourself to reach a certain look (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=610">10:10</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=675">11:15</a>).<br><br>8. Bodybuilding legend Hadi Choopan demonstrated a very impressive workout by doing squats with a lot of weight on a machine (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=1516">25:16</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=1640">27:20</a>).<br><br>9. If you have stomach issues from normal creatine, trying a liposomal version might help you get the benefits without the pain (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=2266">37:46</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=2378">39:38</a>).<br><br>10. When big companies buy healthy food brands, they sometimes quietly change the ingredients, so always check the labels (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=2516">41:56</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=2609">43:29</a>).<br><br>11. Eating snacks that have both high protein and fiber is a great way to feel full without eating too many calories (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=3100">51:40</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=3189">53:09</a>).<br><br>12. Scientists found that they could plant a thought inside an AI system, and the AI was smart enough to notice it did not belong there (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=3189">53:09</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=3407">56:47</a>).<br><br>13. The people who own MySpace are trying to bring it back as a social network that does not use confusing algorithms to control what you see (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=3581">59:41</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=3762">1:02:42</a>).<br><br>14. For a strong core, focus on movements that include rotation, like wood chops, instead of just doing endless crunches (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=3762">1:02:42</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=3945">1:05:45</a>).<br><br>15. Aggressive dieting makes you lose muscle, which is a bad idea because it takes much more work to build that muscle back later (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=3945">1:05:45</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=4073">1:07:53</a>).<br><br>16. To fix a weak lower back, adding exercises like windmills can help you move your spine better and keep it strong (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=4073">1:07:53</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWef7hyArLM&t=4323">1:12:03</a>).<br><br>Hope I hit 100K subscribers soon.... so my dad stops thinking I’m wasting time helping people. 💪💪💪
