  I know it's been said before, but it's crazy to me how jumping flash was basically one of the first 3d platformers, and it nailed everything so confidently ... and then nobody ever really tried to do what it did

  Alpha Waves looks like Bubsy 3D but with lower polygons but a better draw distance<br><br>Jumping Flash I loved as a kid, I loved both of them with their gameplay and music. I even to this day compare Metroid Prime and Doom 2016 to them whenever you unlock your double-jump ability.<br><br>Fun fact; I was first introduced to Jumping Flash in a demo disk early in the PS1&apos;s life, level 3-2 was the only playable level and I have the most nostalgia for that stage and its BGM.

  I came here to correct you, I DID get clickbaited....<br>Still, while I&apos;m here, I may as well mention Geograph Seal. While not quite a 3D platformer due to it&apos;s lack of, well, platforms, it still has the same gameplay and controls as Jumping Flash, which is likely a spiritual sequel to it.<br><br>Also, Alpha waves(AKA continuim) isn&apos;t supposed to look like it, it only looks right in certain versions of dosbox. Of course, changing the graphics mode to CGA also works...

  &quot;I, Robot&quot; (1984) and &quot;3-D WorldRunner&quot; (1987) almost qualify as even earlier 3D platformers, but not quite.

  Point of advice, if you want to run Alpha Waves in DOSBox, make sure you enable Tandy graphics. The game will look like crap, but at least the timer will be accurate and every second will actually take a second, not half a second. And no, this is not something you can fix by just fiddling with the cycles, I&apos;ve tried.
