  I think LR’s first year was both a blessing and a curse. Going 11-3 with Caleb winning the Heisman immediately set expectations sky high and made it look like USC was further along than it really was. As the Helton-era roster turned over, some of the deeper talent and development issues became more obvious. Since then it’s felt like a lose-lose for Riley because Year 1 became the standard. At this point though, it’s Year 5 and the excuses are running out. I think his future comes down to how this season finishes, especially these big games coming up. Curious what you guys think

  As a Texas Ex, I have to say looking at the peeing celebration from Simmons my first reaction was &quot;What the h**l is WRONG with you?&quot; If that was planned, then this dude is classless.<br>Between that and last week&apos;s Sark, Arch, Holly Rowe fiasco plus all the penalty yards, I&apos;m starting to wonder about the discipline of this team.

  This targeting call discussion makes it sound like diving head first or remaining upright is better than a slide. That is conditional on circumstance. How about: don’t target a player’s head? Yes, a head collision can occur unintentionally. What I saw is a deliberate dive into the slider’s head, shoulder leading. The USC player didn’t have to make that choice in that circumstance as the runner was down by contact, and could have reduced the impact, but he chose differently and was obviously elated by his choice.

No. The answer is an unequivocal NO to the question of whether they’re going to be able to spike the ball. NCAA rules dictate that there must be at least 3 seconds on the clock in order to spike the ball. There were only 2 seconds on the clock. <br><br>This isn’t even debatable, so to see you guys kick around the idea of spiking the ball with 2 seconds on the clock is painful. You may as well be arguing about whether or not Iowa would be able to get a 12th player onto the field for the last play.<br><br>And, also no, the injury didn’t cause Michigan to have to take a time out. It was a standard injury time out that has an optional 10 second run off. Iowa declined that run off. Michigan would only have been compelled to burn a time out in the case where it wanted to avoid the 10 second runoff. Michigan was NOT charged with a timeout in that situation. Either watch the game or read the rulebook … preferably both.
