CORRECTION: Starting in 2022 Audi dropped Haldex in the RS3 and started using a transverse AWD system from Magna. I pulled all my research from the Audi press room, and the impression given is that the recent improvement to RS3s Quattro was related to adding the torque vectoring rear differential from other S/RS cars; so I didn't really grasp that there was a complete supplier / system change. Haldex 4 and Haldex 5 systems operate proactively, distinguishing them from the reactive nature of Haldex 3 and its predecessors. Furthermore, the Quattro Ultra system maintains a locked 4WD mode when the vehicle is stationary and during initial acceleration. It transitions to 2WD mode by disengaging the clutches only when conditions warrant such a change. Consequently, in situations involving snow-covered roads, the system is expected to remain in 4WD mode for the vast majority, if not the entirety, of the operational period.<br>Loved the video, keep it up 🎉!

The best awd system ever is that with the dccd center differential in subaru sti. It has a helical lsd front, a clutch plate lsd rear and the center differential is adjustable with auto and manual mode and lock capability.<br>It is an unbelievable awd system with huge mechanical strength also.

The older haldex systems are awesome as well, we use them in Europe for 1/4 mile racing 💪🏿😁 and the work great 😁

Audi named it quattro ultra because it's focused on fuel savings. Previously, models branded as TDI ultra or TFSI ultra were the fuel-efficient versions, similar to VW's BlueMotion models.
