The problem with smart characters is.... the writers are often not smart enough to write smart characters.

The entire Ironman and Avengers series was pretty much Tony Starks guessing failing and fixing...

Tbh Reed being described as a genius while acting like a moron is pretty comic accurate. 😂

just because the character is smart, doesn’t mean they’re wise. That’s why in DND wisdom and intelligence are different stats.

Great point, that smart people can still be wrong, it's just that they learn from that faster than the other guy.

I have a 13 year old niece who was a fan of the Iron heart comics, 'Don't ask me why, cause I don’t know either' she watch the live act all the way until the end and blasted me with a hundred questions, the two that stood out the most was, "why did they make her a villain." And the other was "could've she have sold some of her tech for millions of dollars and became rich to make better armor that way?" I'm summarizing it but yeah, my '13 YEAR OLD' niece! Saw made more sence then that Fu°king show!

When Reed was like "We can handle Wanda" Maury determined that was A LIE

I guess in that multiverse Reed could've been a masterful conman who convinced everyone he was really smart when he was not.

I think the best written intelligent character in fiction is columbo. It's never stated that he's a genius, quite the opposite he's presented as a fool and then is left to prove otherwise. His intelligence is more grounded not dependent on magical flashes of knowledge but more relying on hard work and the people around him not being as smart as they think they are.

The great thing about Tony Stark is that in every movie, he has a new suit that fixes a previous problem

Mr Fantastic has an IQ of 267. Dr Eggman has an IQ of 300. Eggman is smarter than Mr Fantastic

12:40 my personal thought for why Strange defeated Dormamu is that since they said his realm is "a realm beyond time", Strange's time loop is actually causing Dormamu to see and hear an additional Strange slightly out of sync with previous iterations. Strange just sees himself once because he and the stone come from a realm where time exists, but Dormamu is living each loop at the same time. Eventually the discordance just gets to be too much and Dormamu caves.
