  Dad bought a brand new 53 Lincoln Capri when I was a young'en. We did a trip across country in it from California to Michigan to see my grandparents in 1954. I'll never forget dad telling everyone it was the king of the road.

  I can see why this car is valued today, it is a good car, well-engineered, and styled way ahead of it's time. They were chopped, lowered and hot rodded, because of their long sweeping lines were very beautiful. -- And it is a beautiful car in its original factory condition, as built new. A classic American dream car.

  Excelent cars, 52 to 55 Cosmopolitans are very similar to Capris. <br>Tom MacCahill had a 53 hardtop and considered it one of the best cars he had driven. <br>My dear father had a 54 Cosmopolitan sedan. Excelent car.

  I was 12 when the ‘52 came out and 73-years later I still find it, and ‘53, ‘54, models, to be incredibly attractive. Would love to have a convertible, but time has passed that by for me. It’s understated elegance makes much of what happened in the later high-fins ‘50s absolutely laughable.

  Only an A.I. production would show us a big building that says Lincoln Drug Company in huge letters on it for a video about Lincoln cars. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldxbEflF_LQ&amp;t=112">1:52</a> mark in the video.

  These are great cars. One of my favorite 50s cars. The one problem with them is they are not common, most people dont know what they are, therefore not many parts are available and or reproduced. Not many parts interchange with the more popular ford and merc of the time. Best bet is to buy one restored, or buy a solid complete car with great trim and chrome.
