The worst thing about this is that the one's cheating the system are still going to be there in the end.  They will just get more creative.

It was too easy for scam companies.  Now it will be too hard for some actually legit companies.

I'm 1000% for the Japanese government to get rid of fake businesses, but they seem totally unaware of what it takes to run an actual business and are slow to get rid of bad businesses.

Yes, thank you to Chinese. Open fake buisness, make all the familly come to Japan, using free health care and school system and abuse all allocation possible. A mother clearly said to me "The health care and education system for my kids are far better in Japan, and it's free. So why stay in China?" . All of this was paid by hard working Japanese.

That’s approximately $187k a year. I use to own a successful tutoring center. Successful meaning we helped a lot of students who were failing graduate, some with college scholarships.  We didn’t make nearly that much a year.

scammers will just continue to lie about their business status and make fake employee records the same as now. Nothing will change aside from law abiding business having to shutter

Scammers will always know how to beat the system, it’s the honest businesses who play by the rules that are going to suffer. Unfortunately it always takes a few bad apples to ruin it for everyone.

It's not just the business owners, but the average foreigner like me,  lawfully living in Japan (steady job, no criminal history, paying insurance, tax and whatnot), have to go through unreasonable amounts of reviews and scrutiny because of a few bad apples. It's just not fair.

I respect countries being protective to keep things rolling. Unfortunately, a bunch of opportunists, and I don't want to call their countries safe, will take advantage of the system, abuse it in any way, evade taxes, get loans, and suddenly vanish into thin air. The laws should and must be constantly revised to eliminate the chances of them.

That's the life of an expat. You are a guest as long as they are willing to host you, that's the reality. There's no guarantee that you can live in any country permanently as a foreigner
