  I always like a buffet, not to try and "get my money's worth" but i can have a little of everything,  not just one dish and a side or two. but the salad and soup and multiple main courses and multiple sides and a dessert.

  I used to really go in trying to break the buffet and eat only the expensive things but as I've gotten older I find myself just eating what I like regardless of cost.

  I'm a picky eater, so I like buffets because it's the best way to sample new foods. It also makes it easy to please groups where everyone has different dietary restrictions.

  A smart buffet gives you the drink for free and brings the refills fast. Soda cost $0. Soda fills the tummy just like steak.

  Around 1970 my parents would take us to a smorgasbord which my dad called the smorgy. It was I believe two dollars for adults and $.10 a year for kids up to age 12. So our family of five with three big boys, two of them older than 12 could eat dinner for a grand total of around $10 all you can eat. My parents advice was don’t load up on salad and desserts when you first walk in. Go for the fried chicken or roast beef. And we drank water which was free.

  Right now there's a man in Ohio suing a Chinese all you can eat buffet for 3 million dollars because they tried to make him pay again after six trips.

  My dad worked with a man nickname of "Tiny". Six foot nine inches tall and weight of over 350 pounds.  He was banned from most all- you - can eat places in Louisville Kentucky

  I used to eat a lot at the buffet when I was younger.  Have a huge meal at the buffet and then the next 3 to 6 days I barely had to eat anything at home to still feel satisfied.

  The 1st job that my husband got after college was assistant mgr in a restaurant with a salad bar, so he knew most of these tricks.  We go to Golden Corral occasionally.  When we go, we both order water to drink.  They definitely make bank on me.  On him, they do not.  He skips the salad bar, bread and anything resembling a potato.  Fish, shrimp, fried chicken and lots of beef and pork.  He also has a BIG appetite and can usually make those 4 trips.  Between the 2 of us, it averages out.  I don’t know how, but he’s 6 foot and weighs about 190.
