Still running a 51 year old GS Pallas here in the UK. Totally love it. It’s a proper Citroen how they should be ❤

In Australia I had a 1015 Cmatic followed by a 1220 manual and a 1220 wagon C Matic.

My parents had a 1220 Cmatic. Saved their life once when forced off the road and GS stablity and handling meant dad got it back on the road without rolling or hitting the bus or other car.
So good dad then bought a CX Pallas and mum took over the GS.

Two friends has a 1220 club and a 1220 Pallas.

In 1982 we leased a GSA X1 1299 5 speed manual hatchback.
That was even more impressive...

The BX took this to another level and was very popular.

I owned the "station wagon" version of this amazing motor car. It was, by a long shot, my very favourite vehicle - for my purposes anyway. It was just brilliant and I miss it terribly to this day.

I had one. It was an excellent car, comfortable and reliable, always dealer serviced, never any problems.

My father had a GSX, 1976, 1015 cc and 54 HP. It ran great, it was a really sportive looking interior and upholstery. Brushed aluminium gauge board, with round gauges by Jaeger. Black vinyl leather seats, with integrated head rests.
Drove it 7 years and then had a GSA, with 1300 cc and 65 HP.
The first one had one issue, at winter time it was sometimes difficult to start. Spark plugs and Points were recommended to replace often, or at least cleaned. It did this long time, before I had a driver licence. From 1979, when I got the licence, I was driving a lot with this car too.
The second one hat already a transistor ignition, the issues with starting were gone.
Both were running great.

I was lucky to own a GS for more than 10 years, this car defined to me what is over-engineered cars mean, best brakes, best suspension ,best road handling, best load balancing, best tire replacing and list goes more and more. The headlights were in parabolic shape so the light rays go beyond your imagination. The starter motor failed and I couldn't repair it or find a spare part for it, I used to crank start the car manually, this car gave that option too. On the other side, mechanics and technicians didn't like it, spare parts were rare and expensive (with very long life span). I was forced to sell it because of lack of spare parts. very big salute to Citroen engineers
