  When you addressed us as &quot;Snicker doodle cookie&quot;, I instantly ran to the comments. My childhood nickname, from my parents, was &apos;Snicker Doodle&apos;. It turned into &apos;Doodle Bug&apos; and my dad called me &apos;Doodles&apos;. He called me that consistently up until he passed away a little over a year and three months ago. Today is his birthday. To celebrate him, I was just enjoying a Snicker doodle Twix bar (yes, they exist). Since you and I both enjoy irony, I thought you might enjoy hearing this. That one, small off-handed comment you made means the world to me. ❤

  The prosthetic one - I have a story that has been WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT. &nbsp;Phew, okay. Here goes:<br><br>When I was a kid and got to stay the night at my grandparents house I would sleep on the floor between their twin (yes, twin!) beds but that&apos;s only the start of the weird. After reading me a bedtime story, the last thing I would see before my grandparent switched off the light was grandpa&apos;s prosthetic leg standing in their perpetually open closet, staring at me like a quarter of a zombie. It was probably from the late 50&apos;s or early 60&apos;s and my grandpa never wore it as he said it was uncomfortable. Now, it freaking looked real to a little kid. If you asked &quot;What&apos;s that?&quot; Grandpa would glibly say &apos;My leg&quot; the way you or I would say &quot;A coat&quot;. Then I would try to fall asleep worrying about the leg. Would it try to get me? Then I would worry FOR the leg. Was it lonely?!? This cycle played out over and over because my grandparents ruled and I always forgot the leg would be watching me.... Right until my grandparents turned out the light.

  Last story: if the mom behaves like this with you, she will do that or even worse once you have a child. She will harm your child.<br><br>If anyone has a parent like this, protect your kids from the crazy. You grew up with it and don’t realize how abnormal it is. You don’t see the harm as clearly as people on the outside.<br><br>If you maintain the relationship, NEVER leave your child alone with the person. Be there to intervene and protect.

  1st story: I feel like the &quot;Girl Best Friend&quot; is the one who changed the name and may have drugged his drinks (bc 2 shots is NOT enough to get to the point of throwing up unless you&apos;re a major lightweight). It would also explain the out of character behavior. Something is going on and I&apos;m not keen to believe it&apos;s 100% the boyfriend&apos;s fault here<br><br>Edit: REGARDLESS, he never should have changed the Girl BSF&apos;s name back

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAz7oAFihY0&amp;t=2612">43:32</a> &nbsp;As someone who really tried to work it out with narcissistic parents, I get that she doesn&apos;t want to write her mom off and keep the child from her, but I think she needs to seriously consider it. She has time, there&apos;s a few years before the child will remember and ask for Grandma, but I encourage her to really consider making that decision before the baby can remember. I had to cut my parents out, I had stuck through trying to fix things hoping that my cold could have great grandparents. I waited too long. By the time I accepted that my parents were not only going to continue mistreating our relationship, but also do the same with my daughter, she was old enough to remember them and think she wanted them around. I still have the right call stopping contact with them, but at that point there was a grieving period for my little girl that could have been avoided had i accepted the reality of the situation sooner, and i will always regret waiting long enough that that affected her. Not every family is the same, maybe op&apos;s mom will pull through to be Grandma of the year, but I&apos;m just saying, of it&apos;s not looking like that&apos;s going to happen, then better to accept that sooner rather than later.

  All of those &quot;What an odd thing to say&quot; or &quot;that&apos;s weird&quot; things. If they were ever said to me, my socially awkward ass would never say anything again for the rest of my life at family gatherings.<br><br>Which in this case, would be a success. So...good thinking.
