  i’m blind and have a guide dog, but while you mentioned wanting to know how severe the allergies were, i’m curious as to how severe her blindness is, it’s an incredibly wide spectrum and only about 7% of the blind community has absolutely zero variability. while my guide dog is an absolutely wonderful tool whom i love very much, and feel much safer with, there are also several instances where i’ve left her behind because i knew bringing her with me would be a burden to others, i can’t imagine not going to my best friends wedding just because i couldn’t bring her with me, especially when offered several alternatives, and we know that the friend can function without the dog as well, seeing as they’ve known each other longer than she’s had the dog. it feels like a very strange situation, and i’m well aware that not everybody’s disability looks the same, i really don’t think that the friend was being fair, if you’re at an intimate venue with small rooms, and you want have a whole lot of space to have to navigate, i don’t see why the dog would be necessary, in fact, i think that a human guide would be far more helpful in that kind of setting

  As someone with an allergy to fragrances, allergies are not taken seriously when it means someone has to change their routine. I have been blamed for damaging a relationship with a coworker for saying I can&apos;t share a workspace with her because she wears copious amounts of perfume knowing I&apos;m allergic, and told me my symptoms are &quot;crappy because I can&apos;t leave the house without my perfume&quot;. I&apos;m telling you right now that allergy meds help with the symptoms but absolutely don&apos;t get rid of them, and they have side effects, but people flat out refuse to be considerate and somehow that&apos;s your fault. It&apos;s absolutely horrible. And to make matters worse, my workplace has a policy where we&apos;re supposed to minimize our scented products because I&apos;m not the only one with sensitivities to fragrance, but instead of dealing with someone flat out refusing to follow the policy, our boss and hr accused me of singling her out. It&apos;s a much bigger problem than most people realize.

  The note about the guide dog not also being a medical alert dog IS SO IMPORTANT in her not being an asshole. If it were a medical alert dog, then not allowing its presence would be removing an essential and important health device that cannot be substituted by a human aid.

  God, that second woman cannot trust ANYTHING that man says. The fact that he still has control over her even while they’re going through the divorce says everything about how abusive he is. There’s no excuse for his behavior at all, he’s a horrible human being

  The bride&apos;s disabilities are just as important as the blind friend&apos;s disability. It&apos;s unhinged to think otherwise imo.

Literally, she wrote our state&apos;s curriculum for blind mobility. Over the years, I have had many blind friends. A human guide and/or using a cane are completely acceptable replacements for a guide dog. The bride&apos;s friend is being very unreasonable. An extreme allergy is much harder to &quot;switch off for a day&quot;.

  I&apos;d rank reading my journal 10/10 the first time, not because you found it or because you read like a few words passively. &nbsp;But because you went over, opened it, and read several pages intently. &nbsp;Divorce/10 the second time, as if it wasn&apos;t clear the first time. &nbsp;There wouldn&apos;t even be a chance at a third time.
