I am German, born 1965. In 1972 German gunlaw was drasticly restricted , so i have no gun, but i saw Ballistol , owned by owners of airguns or blankguns. Every German in my age says, with exeption of drinking you can use Ballistol for everything. What is reason for this joke? Until 1970s, perhaps still in early 1980s, Ballistol was sold in typical small glass bottles. Added to this bottles was a PR paper, for which purpose Ballistol can be used. Was a fun to read this PR paper, so older Germans remember this paper with fun.

Ballistol is my go-to. Cleans the wood stock of my shotgun very nicely too.

I was the Museum curator of the firearms collection. After some research, I came to the same conclusion. I cleaned and lubricated a significant part of our collection with Ballisol.

Sometimes I use Ballistol, and sometimes I use Break-Free MIL-SPEC CLP. I have both in my firearm maintenance kit.

I have used Ballistol for years. It just works. I also use. Hoppe’s #9 as well.

One mechanic told me he wouldn't use WD-40 on a wheelbarrow.

WD-40 gums up gradually after the solvent evaporates.
