I just DON'T have enough BRAIN DAMAGE to pay $400 for a "rule book" that will be OBSOLETE in less than six months ! ! !

Prices are too high and I really just don’t want to collect an army who is going to be totally invalidated in five years time as they re-re-do everything and send all the old load outs and kits to legends.

I laughed at the term 'wallet destroyer 9000'.

A mate of mine heard me laugh so I explained the gw product, and he asked 'which one, it all is' 😂

60$ for a marine on a bike is actually bonkers. That’s a video game. Shame on GW for these prices.

I do hope the limited edition Codex edition will never ever sell out and collect dust until the next edition :_TrollLaugh:
But knowing GW, I think they'll just take it off the shop at some point and say "oh yeah, it totally sold out", while actually forcing it down the throat of third party retailers as a display piece.

It's just too expensive, especially in this economy.

Just a little context... Meanwhile, Warlord Games just had a buy one sprue, get one free sale on their webstore. I got two brand new artillery piece models, 6 Italian troops to man them (for free), and 6 extra infantrymen just for laughs (cause they were free, too)... for $40.
Not only are the marketing decisions out of control on the price front, but they have also poisoned all enthusiasm and trust in the "community". I let one of the young new lads know about the upcoming Outriders and he let me know he might be leaving the game. This guy has only a modest army and has hardly been playing a little over a year (and he was VERY enthusiastic). So, I asked him why. He said, "Well that means I can't play my old Outriders anymore and have to buy new ones... I can't justify that to my dad." Yes, I know... I corrected him, but the assumption he has is so very telling: he already knows that GW will take away/de-codex his stuff and force him to buy new releases and he's already on his way out the door. He's heard others talking and then his Predator was removed from the Codex. He already assumes betrayal and manipulation to such an extent that he is looking for a new game. GW dug this grave and now they're going to lie in it...

Invalidating players existing collections has done nothing for players and collectors. The loss of trust is certainly a factor.

A Catachan 40k box or Killteam box would sell out instantly.

Also, price hikes in this economy is ridiculous. They are free to price it how ever they want. We are free to say 'Naw, I'm good'.

I agree Warhammer is so expensive that I cannot justify it. As you said, one dude on a bike is two and a half hours of work for me and half a week of food. For 60 bucks, I can buy a whole new video game or several months of a game service. I'm sad that the fomo is dying off because now there won't be as many suckers to buy second hand from.
