Never have an opinion. Never get comfortable in your role. Never assume colleagues are your friends. Never assume your employer is loyal to you. Never assume that recruitment is fair and impartial. It's not just "don't overshare". It's also BE CAREFUL OF EVERYTHING YOU SAY.<br><br>What you say jokingly can be taken seriously by someone else and used against you later on.

It's a mind game. If you talk, then you talk to much, if you not talking you are snob. If you have your opinion, you are argumentative and demanding. If you work hard you will be overloaded, if not you're not doing enough. Either or you can't win 🤷🏻♀️

Oversharing is a big one. I work in IT, and virtually every time I tell somebody about something cool I'm working on, they either ask to "help out" or steal my idea outright

I learned the hard way about 16 years ago. You don't go to work to make friends. You don't manage your work 'friend'. And, do NOT share any personal topics to coworkers. They will use it against you!
