  My daughter was born without an immune system. It was because of David, that my daughter didn’t have to live in a bubble. Her immune system kicked in around her 2nd birthday. David’s life has great meaning and value. I learned about David from my daughter’s hematologist in 2007, he isn’t forgotten and still lives on for a lot of us.

  I mean you can see the pain and anger in this boys eyes. How anyone could say his mental health is fine is..... insane and makes me so sad. Every picture shown of this boy, i just want to hug him tightly.

  My son has the same condition - because of this poor little boy and the research of amazing doctors, my son has weekly infusions of immunoglobulin (from human blood donations) and will soon celebrate his 30th birthday. We’ve had a few scares over the years where we thought we might lose him, but he is an otherwise healthy adult with a beautiful wife. We are so blessed and I feel so sorry for David and his family.❤

  Morality aside, once he was in the isolator, there was no question about having to maintain him in it. If he had lived to adulthood, what kind of life would he have had? Coming out of it had to be his choice.

  I&apos;ve known about this for quite a while, but I didn&apos;t know all these interesting details. &nbsp;I always thought his condition was an unexpected surprise that they just had to figure out how to handle. Learning that they knew it was a strong possibility even before conception puts a whole different light on it.

  I was born with no immune system and I am 44 years old now. I almost died multiple times in my youth from odd illnesses. My immune system is working but it&apos;s not normal. I have an unknown immune system disorder. I have cycles of chronic infections and I have survived at least 12 bouts of blood infections throughout my life. I learned very early in my life, life is not promised nor is happiness. It&apos;s mostly controlled by genetics and the environment. Life is short and it&apos;s up to us how we use the time we have. I knew about David because I was born different too and he helped hundreds of others with rare conditions. He was very loved. Most people don&apos;t have such care and people around us who love us. I was put in a sterile room at the hospital for half a year getting treatment and tests trying to figure out what I had. Doctors still don&apos;t understand everything I have but they do what they can to give me a normal life. It&apos;s all they can do.

  If I have certain genetic abnormalities that could potentially cause my child to suffer, I would stay child-free. My heart couldn&apos;t take my child&apos;s suffering.

  His parents are incredibly cruel and selfish to keep having children. Poor David. &nbsp;<br>Just because you can, doesn&apos;t mean you should. &nbsp;David didn&apos;t deserve this. Neither did his brother.

  I feel so sorry for all the children of these parents. They give me the ick. Also why the heck give both your boys the same first name?! They replaced the first David! It is sickening on so many levels for so many reasons. As someone who is unable to have kids, and I’d give almost anything to have a child— I could never do this to my baby. It’s wrong, selfish and just plain cruelty. All their kids deserved better, so so much better than lives like this.
