  One could argue that if you're including aircraft carriers in this comparison, the carrier could have one plane attacking one target each, and then you're adding 80-100 targets depending on the size of the carrier's air wing. Food for thought.

  See I clicked on this because in Drach's recent video on the battle of the river plate, he discusses the Graff Spree firing at two of the British ships simultaneously using different durrets. I was wondering how they were doing that, thinking their number 1 rangefinder and targeting computer would be providing the solution for all the guns.

  I think the battleship's greatest aspect is that everyone wants to attack it, and it can attack everyone back. Lessoning the stress on weaker vessels.

  HMS Warspite during WWI and WWII had occasion to engage two surface targets with her main batteries. In the pacific theater, the DP five inch guns were often used for shore bombardment, in which case they’d get fire direction from the ANGLO. That would be input to the FDC for each gun.

  🤔 Theoretically, under local control each emplacement should be able to engage an individual target, ergo five each port and starboard for the secondary batteries, and one each for main battery turrets? Throw in the 40 and 20 mm mounts- 20 and 49 respectively? <i><b>82!</b></i><b></b><br><i>Posted this about an hour before the video played... looks like I was on the right track</i>

  Each main turrent (3) on its own target. &nbsp;Each 5&quot; turrent (10) on their own target. &nbsp;13 ships targeted.
