I'm a graduate student in korea. My labmates are super nice. They know i can't eat pork and drink alcohol, so they always respect it, and when they are around, i feel super relaxed.

For muslims, the issue of how people view and treat us typically comes when we 'look' muslim. Like when wearing the hijab, having a beard, etc. If you are conforming to modern cultural dress/fashion/hairstyles and no one can SEE that youre muslim, there typically is not an issue. As a revert i found this out in my own country within my own personal family and friend group, people knew i was muslim but as soon as i put the hijab on everything changed. I lost friends, family and was even physically attacked by a family member specifically because of the hijab. Unfornately, the one sister in this video saying theres no issue and people are welcoming, it is most likely because she does not LOOK like she practices Islam - making it easier for her to pass in non-islamic societies with little issues.

As a tourist or immigrat whether in South Korea or somewhere else I don't have to give up on my faith or culture or anything in my live. All I have to do is to respect the law n people of the country that's all. Everything above this is slavery and irrational.
Educate yourself before you attack people. How will u feel it were u or ur people or someone u care about!

I am from France. Here is my experience. As individuals, muslims can be super nice. As a big group...things start to slowly change. Prayers in the streets start to happen. They start to ask for more and more things. Like Hallal lunch in schools or specific hours for men and women in swimming pools. You start to have tensions and frictions with locals. If you say something you are called "islamophobe".Then you start to have requests for there own legal sharia-tribunals for marriage and divorces (same as what is happening in england). And suddently some streets or parts of the city are no longer safe for non-muslim. And they start to say they are oppressed and discriminated against and everything is the fault of the locals for not being welcoming enough. These days in france and europe we have huge issues with our muslim communities. Korea should be careful.
EDIT : it has already started. They ask for halal food st school now.

Now do an interview of a Korean or an asian that moved to and lives in a Muslim country. Try interviewing a Hazara person from Afghanistan.
