  Hello everyone, it’s the Tamil girl here.<br><br>Thank you so much for watching the video and for all the love. I’ve also seen some criticism regarding my Tamil and my identity as an Indian, especially in the comments of previous videos, so I just wanted to clarify a few things:<br><br>1. I’m not an NRI.<br>I’m currently living in South Korea because I’m pursuing my bachelor’s degree here, but I was born and brought up in India. I moved out of India at 18, and I’ve been living in Korea since then. I’m 21 now.<br><br>2. About my Tamil pronunciation: <br>Yes, I’ve seen a lot of judgment and hate about how I speak Tamil. Tamil is my mother tongue. I grew up speaking it as my first language since birth. I’m not sure why some people feel that I have a foreign accent. It’s not something I’ve ever been told in real life by people who speak to me in Tamil every day. Maybe the clips you’ve seen are short or don’t fully represent how I usually speak, but I promise I’m from India, and Tamil is my first language. I’m not an “alien pretending to be Tamil,” I swear 😅.<br><br>3. About the ‘ழ’ (“zha”):<br>Please cut me some slack on that one. I was literally dying from an infected wisdom tooth and a swollen jaw during the shoot 😭. I genuinely tried to pronounce it the way I was taught in school, but the pain might’ve thrown it off a bit. That said, I honestly feel like I sounded the way I always do but maybe that’s just me being used to my own voice. As I mentioned, I know some people think that my Tamil accent sounds “weird” or “foreign.” But the truth is, not a single Tamil person in my real life has ever said that to me and these are people who’ve heard me ramble on in Tamil for hours. So I’m choosing to take those online critiques with a grain of salt, especially when they’re delivered with so much unnecessary hate. <br><br>4. On not speaking Hindi: <br>Some people have assumed I refuse to learn Hindi out of some kind of personal vendetta, but that’s just not true. I’ve said this in other videos, but let me repeat it: I’ve never left Tamil Nadu while living in India as far as travel within India goes. I never planned to move to the North for work or study, so I didn’t feel the need to learn Hindi. In Tamil Nadu, I only needed Tamil to live comfortably, and English helped me in my education and professional life. When I moved to Korea, I had to learn Korean to survive here. That’s all, it’s really just situational, not personal. I have no issues with any language.<br><br>Thank you again to those who have supported me.   I visited Kerala recently and Malayalam speakers were the ONLY people I’ve met EVER who pronounced my super difficult Korean name in one go.. I was impressed! They told me it’s because they basically have every pronounceable sound in their language so it wasn’t too hard for them haha

  On a side note, the Bengali girl seems to be a non-residential Bengali. Her Bengali itself is quite accented and not fluent. I was surprised that she couldn&apos;t identify the word &quot;Protibondhokota&quot; and had to ask it&apos;s pronunciation. Even after that, she pronounced it wrong and made all others pronounce it wrong. It&apos;s actually pronounced Proti-bandho-kota. Had she been a native Bengali speaker, she could&apos;ve broken the word into three easy syllables for others to pronounce it smoothly.
