Thanks, Cory. I know if we told our friends here in Toronto we were considering retiring in Pennsylvania instead of Florida or Arizona, they would think we'd lost our minds. I love many things about FL and even more so AZ but the hard facts you make lay out a great case for PA. Especially Philly or the Philly burbs (no offense Pittsburgh, great choice too). Amazing location, cultural vibrancy, older character-filled communities and homes, natural beauty, relative real estate affordability, top health care, reasonable taxes, and balanced politics. If we absolutely had to we could escape for Dec/Jan to FL to get out of the cold. But I think as a place to call home year round, the Commonwealth ticks so many boxes. Plus, you can wear a tri-corner hat into Wawa or Sheetz on the fourth of July and nobody will bat on eye!
