My wife still drives a Renault 4 from 1985, no electronics, no problems, and every year passes technical inspection without any problems; it has 34 horsepower. Running like a charm.

That brown muck that came out of the seat covers and roof lining was just the light stuff that had escaped the filtering process of the previous owners lungs.
