  I drove 240,s exclusively for two decades, it actually became an obsession.. one year I owned and drove 9 " PIP insurance " was around $150 for the entire year Mia 1984-5"  I always loved the car, but what got me hooked is by chance I met the most honest mechanics in my entire life to date " Swedish Motors , Ralph and Chase " ..they only worked on Volvo,s. I never saw a Volvo of that era that I didn't try to buy "private only " if you wanted to find me in North Miami..you could ask someone "man with the most Volvo,s".. someone would know 😮 .. the 245 wagon was my favorite 0 to 50 mph about 20 seconds 😢.  Speed limit was 55 mph on the turnpike and I 95.. there was no 575 East West then, only state rd 84 😢 I placed a sign on black of some that Read "Diesel" they weren't.. but it seemed to help when merging or seemingly going too slow. I rebadged all my appliances with Volvo emblems, had signs in front of my house Volvo parking only.. think that was crazy? Try this had parking meters for visitors, friends and family.. who didn't drive a Volvo 😢.. there weren't any DR Phil then 😮. My prize was 2 Bertones 79&80, did an engine swap on one to B 20 , the v6 Renault/Peugeot motor was garbage 😢.. now I think will put one on by bucket list 😊 FYI General Collin Powell..had a similar obsession..tho not as extreme 😮

  3 weeks ago my wife's life was saved by her seatbelt.  Her car left the road, rolling 4 times down an embankment ending up upside down in a deep ravine.  She was hanging upside down, bruised and battered, but alive.  God, with help from her seat belt saved her.  Thank you Mr. Bohlin.

  My first Volvo was a 240DL in 1994, since then, in a span of 20 years, I drove only Volvos. Of all models I have driven, 240DL rein Supreme.

  They age beautifully. I had a s80. The most comfortable seats ever. Solid cars 🫶🏼

  People who have never owned one would never fully understand the appeal of the 240. They're ageless, incredibly reliable, handsome, easy to work on, and built to a high standard of ruggedness, durability, and integrity.

  When I was 15 I got a job in the summer washing cars, we sold Volvo’s, Fiats, Toyota and Datsun. The Volvo’s were my favorite and so were their owners. We had one distinguished gentleman that sold shoes for a living and he traded every 300,000 miles and had all his service done at our dealership. I’d always clean his car up and he’d grab a chair and sit there with me as I worked and tell me great stories about his life in sales and all the interesting things that happened to him. He always tipped me a $5.00 for doing an extra good job on his car.
