  "Ticketty-Boo", now, there's an expression I haven't heard in years.  I can't imagine how far you had to throttle down the audio to quiet those big bangers.

  VERY, &nbsp;VERY, &nbsp;Impressive &nbsp;!<br>I was watching for your Floats, as my Brass floats are Soldered together from two halves, and Modern Petrol managed to dissolve the solder seam, and sink the floats, filling them with petrol &nbsp;! &nbsp;MORAL : &nbsp;Use Plastic floats &nbsp;!<br>I loved your ingenious &apos;&apos;Handing&apos;&apos; process &nbsp;! &nbsp; &nbsp;&apos;&apos;Food for thought &nbsp;!&apos;&apos;<br>Your &apos;&apos;New Improved&apos;&apos; Heat shields, worked admirably &nbsp;!<br>Can&apos;t wait for the &apos;&apos;TUNING&apos;&apos; Tutorial ! ......   Briljant. My grandfather drove Hispano’s and Rolls Royce’s in the 20’ and 30’. He died before I was born. I only know the stories that were handed down to me. But now I know what it must have sounded like.. Thanks so much. He must have had a lot of fun in those days.

  i think you should get the wide band combustion mixture sensor and use it to tune the carbs.

  All parts including washers are available from, SU Burlen group ,it costs about £70 for a rebuild kit.

  Excellent Chris. It started, ran, and ticked over because of your accuracy and attention to detail. Amazing how sweetly it settled down actually. As you say if it&apos;s already that close, so after some jet and needle fettling it should only get better. &nbsp;Great episode that, and a handsome engine run at the end of it - Bravo - well done 👏🙂

  You may consider replacing the string gasket in the rocker box (if you take it of again) with stove rope as used in the doors of wood burners. I have seen it on Amazon down to 6mm (at least) not sure what size you want, but it will withstand the prolonged heat from a longer run engine. Perhaps a touch of the stove glue first in the bottom of the gap for it, it sets by warming it up IE running the engine. The stove rope will go brittle over time so may need replacement if engine cover is removes after say a year, but if its glued into the engine it should not break when the rocker(ish) cover is removed.
