  This game was Dark Souls for me and my sister. As frustrating as it was, it was satisfying to triumph over it.

  All your points I fully agree with, the thing I love the most with this game was how dark the story was which to be honest makes sense that they went for a mature feel because if you think about it the original Spyro games are dark too in their own way (The main villains being a dictator, wanting to rule the land and those who don&apos;t like it, gets killed or imprisoned) but they&apos;re more catered to little kids whereas this trilogy was catered to teenagers I&apos;d say.<br>Plus that music though! It&apos;s so cinematic and dark to match the theme, it&apos;s so good. Plus that ending being really sad, that crushed me the first time I played this and to get that ending 😂.<br><br>This game may be flawed but doesn&apos;t deserve all the hate it gets in general🤷‍♂️.

  I&apos;ve been emulating the trilogy for the first time, this past year.<br><br>Eternal Night stopped me in my tracks. &nbsp;I&apos;m on the last world, but I just haven&apos;t gotten back to the game. &nbsp;I really think the extended pirate section was a mistake; after that gauntlet, my enthusiasm was severely depleted.

  Glad to see youtubers giving this game more mercy than it used to get, even if you&apos;re not as big TEN fan as I am.<br><br>When I first played it six years ago, I expected it to be bad because of the reception. I was shocked how much more I liked it than I thought. I think it improved so many things from its predecessor. <br><br>The platforming was better than in ANB, made some nice use of dragon time, and was generally more challenging than its predecessors. <br><br>The levels including collectables with nice rewards was good. Nothing to add there.<br><br>The combat is hard, true, but it also gives you more tools to deal with the relentless hordes you&apos;re constantly facing. If you find a good balance between timing Dragon time just right, stunlocking enemies with aerial combos and using elemental breaths, the combat becomes more enjoyable. A useful strat is to use dragon time in brief chunks to do either aerial combos or elemental breaths without being interrupted, which happens often otherwise. I love how different the elemental breaths are from one another, like the chargeable thunder sphere and the wrecking ball like earth thing. If I remember right TEN also had greater enemy variety compared to ANB. <br><br>I was impressed by TEN&apos;s story. When I finished the game, I was honestly wondering was I the only one who got it. It&apos;s about self determination and defying destiny. Spyro finds out how similar he is to Malefor, therefore wanting &nbsp;to do everything not to become like him, but he also decides to face the Dark Master despite the odds being against his victory. Cynder on the other hand already had been on the dark side, feels very guilty about it, and desperately tries to escape the likely fate of falling to the dark side again under Malefor. When Cynder helps Spyro snap out of his dark form, Spyro is also deeply ashamed for letting himself being overtaken by such a state.<br><br>When bad things happen in life, it feels like the chance of more bad things following increases with every misfortune. It&apos;s like there&apos;s an invisible force that tries everything to keep its victim miserable. Wanting to break free from its control is something I can really relate to.<br><br>Going back on topic, I agree Cynder should have had more screentime. An ideal version of TEN would have featured her as a playable character.<br><br>Overall the game is not a 10 out of TEN (chuckle), but a great 8/10.

  I really loved the legend of spyro series and The Eternal Night was my favorite because it was so challenging. Glad to see someone can see both the good and bad in this game.

  I beat the eternal night on wii when I was a kid. I remember giving up during the pirate ship scorpion battle then came back a few years later and took me a couple days to finally beat the battle.

  New Beginning and Eternal Knight were the first games I played!<br>I still quote &quot;Oh, bless you&quot; from the Atlawa introduction, and I still have Guide You Home on my playlist

  I totally missed out on this game in the trilogy—I always thought it was <b>only</b> a DS game for some reason, maybe because my sister had that version. I just found out today each of the Legend of Spyro games had multiple versions: consoles, GBA (except for DotD), DS, and mobile (pre-smart phones)... Very bizarre, haha.<br><br>Edit: For some reason, I feel like a remember the Dark Spyro part, so I might&apos;ve actually watched a YouTube playthrough back then. If the new Spyro game does well, I think it would be cool to get a remaster of this trilogy as well, but I&apos;m not holding my breath tbh.
