  mitsuha  (三葉), name means three leaves! with her grandmother named Hitoha ("one leaf"), mother named Futaba ("two leaves"), and younger sister named Yotsuha ("four leaves")

  They survived because Mitsuha finally managed to persuade her father (the scene in <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipQXma7Tbs8&amp;t=3451">57:31</a>). And the girl talking about wedding with Tessie was Mitsuha&apos;s friend, Sayaka - the one Mitsuha was hanging out with at school and who helped with the radiostation. Her younger sister survived too, she is seen in one of the last scenes, attending school in Tokyo.

  Fantasy, it&apos;s called fantasy. But they do explain how they survived during the brodcast. Love this movie. I&apos;m glad you enjoyed.

  You can tell when Taki is in Mitsuha&apos;s body becouse he can&apos;t fix her hair properly so he wears a ponytail. When her hair is pretty and tied up with the braided cord, it&apos;s her.

  my guess when Mitsuha cry in front of the mirro, I think she didn&apos;t realize that she loves Taki and feels sad that he might get together with Okudera sempai, and that drove her to go to see him in Tokyo.

  When he went to the shrine/underworld, he had to leave behind something precious to him as a payment of passage. <br>Those were his memories of her. She, by the same token, paid with her memories in bringing about a change in fate (saving the town).<br><br>The moon goddess protects confessions of love, even through time and fate, so that is why it was allowed to remain on her hand instead of disappearing (like the diary).<br><br>It was theorized that she was ALSO going to write her confession, and later revealed through an interview to be true. <br><br>Look into The Red String/ Invisible String Theory for all of the symbolism throughout, even the subtle ones.

  for the sake was made by Mitsuha, but the sake was brought over to the God&apos;s Realm (Underworld) while Taki switched.

  The place Mitsuha ran to was City Hall. She went to ask her father, the mayor, to tell everyone to evacuate. Noticing something different about Mitsuha, her father issued an evacuation advisory to the citizens. However, since people were unlikely to believe a comet was about to strike, he likely evacuated them to a safe high school under the guise of an evacuation drill.

  Taki referring to Okudera as &quot;Miss Okudera&quot; relates to the Japanese honorific system where younger people use specific terms when interacting with their elders, seniors, sometimes not even by age but by seniority. Him using &quot;Okudera-senpai&quot; is a clear case of using the honorific for his senior/supervisor at his workplace.<br>Yotsuha, Mitsuha&apos;s younger sister often refers to her as &quot;onee-chan&quot; which is what younger siblings refer to their older sister in a casual way. Bit of trivia, the name of the Italian restaurant Taki works at translates to &quot;The Garden of Words&quot;, which is the name of another film by the director, Makoto Shinkai. A common trait of his is to drop Easter eggs, subtle connections between his movies - the name of the restaurant is one where he connects Mitsuha&apos;s teacher in Itomori to that film. <br>Weathering With You, another movie also by Shinkai will have many connections to Your Name. That was also a visual treat and worth a watch. The connections/references are subtle, but there if you are observant. <br>There was a Japanese TV show that had a segment about this movie not long after its release as they noticed its popularity among the older generation keeping it in the movie charts (despite the film being marketed to young adults/teens). They invited some older generation folks to a special screening and placed cameras in the movie theatre towards the audience, then interviewed the people afterwards. Needless to say, many of the old folks were in tears, and noted that the &quot;red string of fate&quot; (aka musubi, symbolised in this movie with Mitsuha&apos;s ribbon and the dream sequence at the shrine) which is prevalent in Eastern oriental cultures was something they experienced in their own lives - like an invisible bond - some people said they met their spouse/soulmate or found something they were looking for. <br>Someone has uploaded that segment of the show and added subtitles for us - <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTsafIFkxTs">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTsafIFkxTs</a>
