I feel like it's important to note that there was never any danger of any love triangle happening. Aragorn never had a shred of romantic feeling for Eowyn - his heart was bound to Arwen as it had been since he was a young man seeing her for the first time - but he cared for Eowyn and her plight, and wanted nothing but happiness for her.

Frodo and Bilbo were allowed to sail to the Undying Lands because they were both Ring-bearers, and the Ring left deep spiritual wounds that couldn’t heal in Middle-earth. It wasn’t about living forever, as mortals still die there, but about mercy and rest. The Elves and the Valar granted them this grace as a reward for their suffering and sacrifice. Frodo especially was broken by what he endured, and Valinor offered him peace he could never find at home. It’s a farewell, not an escape. A soft ending for a hard life.

Eomer wasn't just screaming because his sister was hurt; as far as he knew, she was back at camp at Dunharrow, out of danger. She wasn't even supposed to be there! What a horrible shock that must have been.

18:08 : The reason Gandalf takes Pippin with him is because Sauron believes Pippin has the Ring. Sauron knew a hobbit had the Ring, so when Pippin touched the Palantir, he believed that was the one. That inadvertent deception was very important. That's why Sauron focused so much on Minas Tirith or that Aragorn's suicide mission worked.
Attacking Mordor directly in Aragorn's situation is exactly what someone with the Ring would do. Overconfident to the point of stupidity. So it made sense to Sauron that Aragorn would come and that's why Sauron was taunting him. Sauron believed he knew where the Ring was during almost this entire movie.

@1:45:53 Not only would Sam not have been able to fight Frodo for the Ring, Tolkien wrote in his letters that no living being could have willingly destroyed the Ring, such was it's power at the place of it's creation. Part of his philosophy that is central to the story is that good cannot simply conquer evil; but when confronted by good, evil is ultimately self-defeating

On the subject of "man-Elves", that's actually what Elrond is. He was born of a union between a human and an elf, as was his brother Elros. Elros chose a mortal life and died a long time ago, but Elrond chose to be an Elf. Aragorn is from the same bloodline as Elros, which is why he ages so slowly.

To add a bit of context: your confusion at the scene of Eowyn being cared for after being gravely wounded is understandable. In the book this was a much more momentous and drawn-out thing that they glossed over a bit in the film (one of my few complaints about Return of the King), so you don't get anything close to the full impact. There was a legend in Gondor that said "The hands of the king are the hands of a healer, and so shall the rightful king be known." After the battle, Aragorn spent an entire night tending to the wounded, notably saving Faramir, Eowyn, and Merry. As news of this spread throughout the city, the people recognized Aragon not only as a hero in the battle, but as the rightful king of Gondor.

The mirroring of Sam reaching for Frodo surrounded by fire compared to Frodo reaching for Sam surrounded by water at the end of Fellowship is always so perfect

1:18:06 it was not hard for Sam to give up the ring. He briefly imagined himself the greatest gardener in the world and then "his plain hobbit sense" kicked in and he laughed at himself, per the book. 😊

"End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take and then you see it..." The lighting of the beacons...the speeches from King Théoden and King Aragorn...feeling the power of the Rohirrim charge, were some of the most epic theatrical experiences in history...Chills forever...I cried at the end the first time, I can't lie. You know it is a masterpiece when you don't want a 4 hour film to end..."You bow to no one."
